Only two days away, Lutes Marine will have their 2nd tournament of the year.

Are you planning on making it? Do you have a game plan for Saturday?

Have you entered in the CCA Star? Well if the answer is no for the Star tournament you better get on that. There would be nothing sicker than you catching a tagged red and knowing you just missed out on a $70K Boat, Motor, Truck package.

Did you know CCA released nearly a hundred tagged Reds up and down the Texas coast?

No one truly knows where they get released, but if I were a betting man (which I am), there is a good chance there might be one in or near Chocolate. In short, you better enter! As of today only 3 tagged reds have been caught including one pending a polygraph test.

Multiple rods will be given away at the weigh-in …..

Savage Rods stepped up this year and donated numerous rods to our event.

I also had Don Savage make a special series of rods with the Sea Center Logo, and serial numbered which the sale of the rod supports the flounder release program.

We will be giving away two of these rods along with another Savage rod Saturday.

One of the special rods will be drawn from the names of everyone that fished in the last tournament in April. The other two will be given away as door prizes at the weigh-in.

Another individual I wanted to give a shout out to was Capt Steve Walko of Texas RattlinRig. He sent over another two prize packs worth nearly $70. Capt Steve really enjoys flounder, and wanted to say thanks to all those who participate in this event. So look for the two prize pack to be given out at the weigh-in …. Must be present to win.

Last, a number of you have questioned the category of the Sheepshead division. This is a fun category that encourages more kids and novices to enter. We like to mix it up and have fun at our events, and if you have even wondered on how to clean them, I will gladly give a quick demonstration after the prizes are given out.

BTW
I have witnessed first hand Sheepshead being sold as Bay Snapper in restaurants, and the fillets look very similar. ....hummmm .... makes you wonder the next time you order snapper ....

Last, I wanted to note the Speckled trout Category. It states the Spec. must be less than 25 inches ……if it’s on 25 inches that fish will not qualify.

On the black jack division, if the redfish is on the money at 21 inches it will be accepted.
Good Luck and we will see you there …..
