When i started working topwater plugs about 15 years ago the plug of choice was the Producer, they had every color in the book. Problem was they were hard to make a lot of noise with. Super spook lures fixed the noise problem but, you were dead by the time the day was over. Today I use the TopDog by Mirr"o"lure, more noise and better on the arms. Colors, what ever you want. i try to pick a color for the type of bait thats in the water.

I have had some luck with a bait from Academy. The have a topwater that is built by LuckyCraft. I'm not sure of the name but it is their H2X line of baits. Price is $5, the price of the exact same thing in LuckyCraft is $15-$20, not having to worry about losing $20 to a trout PRICELESS. Bone and orange is the color that it started out. I now have them in chartruse and bone and hot pink.

Top Dog, or Bodonkadonk. Depending on water clarity and sky conditions vary your color change. Try dark colors, black or purple at night under the moon and a bone colored top dog early mornings in murky water.

Cant go wrong with the Super Spook Jr's in Clown, Bone and the Chrome and Black as far as the colors go.
